To the Military Spouse on Mother’s Day,
Today marks more than just a calendar holiday—it’s a sacred reminder of the first moment you experienced a love unlike any other. Mother’s Day is more than flowers and cards; it’s a call to remember. To slow down. To be present.
Military life often urges us to keep moving—to stay busy, productive, and resilient. But in that constant motion, we risk missing the beauty right in front of us: the first steps, the school drop-offs, the game-day smiles, the last-minute hugs before graduation. We were never meant to race through motherhood—we were meant to feel it.
So today, gift yourself a pause. Ask yourself:
Am I truly experiencing joy in this season of motherhood?
What does a healthy, connected relationship with each of my children feel like?
What past or present pain might be keeping me from being emotionally available to myself—and to them?
You don’t have to have all the answers today. But you do have the honor of being a reflection of the best parts of your children. And when you choose to show up fully—heart, mind, and spirit—they get to see the beauty of that reflection.
Happy Mother’s Day, from one military mom to another.
With love,
Emma
